Chief Engineer

As Chief Engineer you will be pivotal in managing a multi-million pound project to automate and transfer this leading retailer's E-Commerce Operations. In addition, the project also includes the requirement to increase the capacity of the Distribution Centres to provide a robust, efficient and effective logistics infrastructure able to respond to the needs of this rapidly expanding, multi channel retailer. Ongoing maintenance and development of the site and of the wider business is also a fundamental part of the role bringing further challenges and opportunities. This is an extremely exciting and complex role for an individual looking to stretch themselves professionally.

Who we're looking for
The provision of vision and leadership will be key to success in this role as will the creation of a united and coherent team with clear objectives and the skills to ensure delivery. As such we are looking for an individual who has strong leadership skills and a proven record in managing an established and complex team with a wide range of specialist skill sets and personalities. You will quickly add value to the team and take immediate ownership of the project, and the team.
Having worked on a similar project before, and with the relevant engineering background and a strong knowledge base around the implementation, testing and maintenance of highly automated systems gained through past experience of associated design and build projects, you will have a demonstrable track record of delivery in a challenging and robust environment and understand the intricacies of such a complex project.
As a natural problem solver you will be able to resolve complex issues, working with key stake holders across the wider business to ensure that solutions have the appropriate impact on the whole operation. This is a unique role in a highly specialised area that will provide the right candidate with considerable growth potential within one of the UK's leading retail businesses.

The Company is a leading fashion retailer that is present in 14 countries, serves over 120 markets world wide and boasts over 1000 stores. With a long term goal of becoming the worlds leading international fashion retailer, the commitment to multi channel development is absolute. As the business continues to expand in this area it is critical that the right infrastructure and distribution network is in place. The decision has been taken to bring the E Commerce Operations in house utilising and investing in the existing Distribution Centre to facilitate greater efficiency and flexibility for this expanding area of the business.
