A market leading organisation based in Nottinghamshire is actively seeking an experienced Senior Category Manager to oversee a team responsible for a variety of indirect spends and projects.
You will be expected to: • Manage and develop the category strategy for a selected spend area, given direction and guidance to the team of category buyers • Lead Group Procurement and high value Strategic Sourcing activities • Become the category and supplier lead and support the business strategy whilst providing professional expertise and commercial focus • Project manage complex projects from concept through to completion • Build effective relationships with Executive Level stakeholders and additionally, specify, test and where possible challenge the business requirements to ensure value for money • Identify value creation opportunities and build compelling business cases support Category Strategy and ensure Senior Stakeholder support. • Lead negotiations, selection and contracting of business with important suppliers • Develop and manage new and existing suppliers to ensure performance of the contracts and to drive maximum value from these relationships.
Who we're looking for
You will ideally be MCIPS Have strong Team Management skills providing direction, coaching and performance management Be able to demonstrate good Commercial Acumen and business savvy Have managed and driven strategic projects from inception to final delivery Be able to influence senior stakeholders with in define category areas and throughout the business Possess excellent negotiation skills to gain VFM deals for the business Have a sound knowledge and understanding of contract law and terms in agreements Be able to build strong relationships with external suppliers, driving additional value Possess strong communication skills both written and verbal
