Product Manager required to help define the appropriate NPD/EPD projects with a designated retailer and to control critical paths internally and externally to deliver such projects on time every time and in full.
The job holder has daily contact with customers and is consequently expected to deal directly with most operational matters as they occur. All decisions taken must also reflect the impact that these have on other customers and the company itself.
1) Liaises on behalf of the company with customer technologists to ensure that all food safety, legal and quality requirements are maintained.
2) Maintains performance measures to deliver and improve customer key performance indicators.
3) Monitors complaints and drives improvement in bakeries
4) Manage successful NPD/EPD by means of developing and gaining approval for the correct briefs and delivering agreed critical paths.
5) Ensures all relevant product information is up to date and communicated to appropriate persons.
6) Ensures that customer technical requirements are understood, implemented and maintained.
7) Plays an active role in business development through the delivery of the commercial business plan through customer account teams.
8) Provides technical support and advice to retailers.
Who we're looking for
Significant relevant experience with a clear track record of achievement within a fast moving food manufacturing goods environment. An individual of graduate calibre, possessing a food science qualification, HNC/D or degree level equivalent.
Must have previous experience in a customer interfacing role, ideally with one of the major UK retailers.
A highly motivated, determined and enthusiastic individual with strong leadership and team building qualities.
The ability and resilience to thrive in a pressurised environment, prioritising work load to lead and deliver a first class management of the account.
Working knowledge of quality systems.e.g. ISO 9001:2000.
Experienced in sensory evaluation.
