As the Strategic Account Manager, with European travel, you will be responsible for, and measured by, the following job responsibilities:
• Meet or Exceed Annual Sales Goal - Through customer contacts and the regional business teams, exceed sales plan within assigned account(s).
• Actively Manage Business Pipeline - Utilise various sources of market intelligence, including PFC database and existing business relationships with client to maintain and grow business with Strategic Customer to lead Champion to become the supplier of choice.
• Develop and Drive Strategic Account Coordination - Develop and execute an Account Playbook that formalises the specific customer needs, business objectives, and key strategies and relationships for the assigned account. Establish a joint Governance process with assigned executive sponsor.
• Account Development - Responsible for the development of new business within the assigned account in customer assets that have done minimal business with Champion but have potential for significant growth.
• Work Closely with Regional Business Teams - Strategic Account Manager will clearly communicate the customer strategy to the regional teams and work collaboratively to efficiently utilise resources and maximise sales penetration at the local level.
• Develop and execute profitability improvement plans - Responsible for identifying and executing profit improvement plans in conjunction with the regional manager for underperforming customer location within assigned Strategic account.
• Designs & executes a call cycle for each assigned account - Responsible for the identification and maintenance of key customer relationships within assigned account including commercial, technical, corporate and field locations.
• Attends training to develop relevant knowledge and skills - Responsible for becoming an active and participating member of the Strategic Account Manager Association (SAMA) professional organisation and utilises membership to provide continuous education and competency training.
Who we're looking for
The successful Strategic Account Manager, with European travel, will be able to demonstrate the following skills and qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry (or other relevant area of study) required. MBA or Master's Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferable.
• Language Skills - fluent and conversant in both French and English.
• Has a proven track record in the oilfield chemicals industry, and displays an in depth knowledge of the business, markets, products, customer requirements and competitors.
• Successful track record in managing a Global Account within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Ability and desire to travel 40% including international.
• Strong, demonstrated business judgment with knowledge and background in chemical selling processes and/or marketing.
• Consultative sales approach - identifies and understands different buyer types and behaviours; builds successful customer partnership through an emphasis on value; sells long term relationships; effectively differentiates Champion's products and services from the competition.
• Executive selling - has demonstrated the ability to interact with highest level executives within customer base; can influence executive level decision makers when lower level sales efforts are stalled or ineffective.
• Strategic thinking - prioritises work in alignment with current organisational goals; can analyse and comprehend organisational
