As the VAT specialist in the business you will be the single point of contact and will:

Ensure that all VAT-related reporting to authorities is done correctly and timely.

Oversee the correct VAT-treatment of all postings. Reconcile reports and VAT postings.

Advise the business regarding the correct treatment of actual and planned business-cases.

Support the Head of Finance suggesting ways of VAT-handling, if cost-saving seems achievable.

Monitor changes to VAT legislation.

Seek advice from internal (and external) consultants if necessary.

Recommend system changes, propose new handling and actively use resources to implement changes that were approved by management.

Take responsibility for any VAT issues and coordinate any action for any kind of VAT audit.

Who we're looking for
You will preferably be ACA CTAfrom practice or commerce, or from HMRC. Either way you will have the ability to influence with impact, evoke trust and openness, and build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Ideally you will adopt a pragmatic approach to VAT, assisting business growth, rather adopting a purely control and compliance stance.

As the business operates in multiple jurisdictions, some European travel is expected initially until you have embedded best practice with overseas controllers.
