Within this role, reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for the following;
•Management and overall supervision of all technical and systems aspects of the manufacturing operations.
• Responsibility for the maintenance of all technical information systems and all product / process specifications.
• Day-to-day issue resolution and troubleshooting for any process skews.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of the appropriate ISO 9001 processes and systems within the business.
• Contribute towards process and quality improvement individually and as a team by engaging with Manufacturing and Engineering, as well as identifying your own process improvements.
• Performance measurement and management for the Quality / Process Technology department. KPI's will centre around operational results, customer service levels, process / performance deviation prevention and ISO 9001 compliance to name a few.
• Management of Quality Controllers, Assistants and Process Technicians.
• Management and resolution / acceptance of a root cause analysis on production or process faults.
• Feasibility reports on all new processes and products.
• Establishment and maintenance of all process and product performance parameters.
• Management of a continual improvement plan and implementation of recommended follow up actions.
• Engagement with the wider business with regards to systems / process and any other technical training programmes required.
Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following;
• Significant experience within a technical quality and process engineering position within a fast paced manufacturing organisation.
• Knowledge and an understanding of lean manufacturing and process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma and Kaizen or equivalent.
• A proven track record of performance improvement within a Quality focussed role.
• The ability to think strategically and conceptually with regards to business goals and how this fits into the overall continual improvement plans.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to affect and influence change at varying levels of management and operations.
• Very strong analytical and response abilities are required with this role. It requires the skill to take complex issues and problems and decipher them in a logical manner, whilst understanding the steps required to resolve or manage the risk.
• Strong planning and organisational skills are required for this role. There will be a number of key initiatives and issues to resolve and it is vital these are efficiently managed and communicated with the business as appropriate.
