Modelling Analyst

Context of the Role



Required for this role is a modelling analyst who will assist in the following:



General:

Exercise responsibility for the successful delivery of the project to plan.
Ensure delivery of the solutions and service meet requirements and that acceptance and handover to business as usual are managed against agreed acceptance criteria and to a defined plan.
Document processes and procedures in line with project expectations.
Analyse large volumes of transactional data to identify and address gaps and data quality issues.
Participate in projects relating to the secured funding programmes, providing input and analyses where required.




Specific:

Model, calculate and deliver cash flow profiles of retail consumer assets for the purposes of interest rate / ALM management
Writing specifications for source data feeds in partnership with the business
Quality assure source data by Testing / reconciling source data feeds to Business Objects
Ensure the format / definitions of the mandatory data requirements that need to be fulfilled to run the BancWare / Convergence models
Implement ETL logic to address data quality issues while working on longer term strategic fixes
Unit testing ETL developments and new model builds
Agreeing behavioural assumptions with divisions
Assisting in UAT of new model builds. Raising defects to the ETL / modelling resources, and re-testing




Typical responsibilities

· Issue identification, tracking and resolution.

· Problem solving and developing innovative solutions.

· Liaising with Technology, Business areas and other departments.

· Liaising with Group departments outside of Group Treasury

· Process documentation

Who we're looking for
Essential Experience: (Must have skills)

Specific business knowledge & technical knowledge required:

· Ability to write SQL queries

· Strong business analysis skills

· Able to understand senior management thinking and present to and face questioning from senior management audience

· Understanding of relevant regulatory / legal / reputational / supervisory / accounting context and current issues



Supplementary Experience: (Useful additional skills)



· Experience of running the Bancware models would be advantageous, I.e. Bancware ALM 5.

· Experience of working on systems related projects within a banking area is advantageous.

· Knowledge of Finance and Treasury systems within Financial Services.

· Experience in a Group Treasury / ALM / Interest Rate Risk Environment
