Online Category Manager - Homewares

As an Online Category Manager on homewares your key responsibilities will include:
• Manage existing homeware product categories
• Launch new categories in the Homewares field establishing supplier relationships and overseeing the production of new online areas
• Responsible for top line revenue & P&L contribution for departments as they grow, working to hit and exceed stretching growth targets for sales and contribution
• Commercial and day to day management of department to include:
Planning, sourcing and implementing of these stores, to include: range and pricing working to target margins, including identifying, contracting and recruiting target suppliers
Planning and implementing seasonal and tactical on-site promotions including sales, bundled offers and featured products
Researching, meeting and negotiating with new and existing suppliers
Managing stock turn, stock levels and clearance activity
Proposing stock purchase prices and quantities
Ensuring websites function properly
Conducting web analysis and conversion analysis and working with marketing to optimise site performance
Weekly performance reporting
• Conduct and respond to regular competitor analysis of key online retailers in these categories
• Identify key suppliers and build strong relationships
• Working on the launch of new sites, including projecting margin and sales, planning and sourcing range and proposing sites taxonomy and navigation
• Sourcing product information and content assets to ensure products are well merchandised online
• Line management of Ecommerce Assistant and Junior Manager

Who we're looking for
In order to be considered for this role you will need:
• Evidence of previous strong commercial results in buying, merchandising or category management for Homewares
•Background in the following product areas strongly advantageous: bedding/lighting/cookshop
• Highly numerate and able to demonstrate sound commercial judgment.Background in pricing, range management and margin calculation
• Strong excel and business reporting skills. Comfortable with handling large volumes of data
• Able to build strong supplier relationships and negotiate effectively with suppliers
• A passion of online retail and the attention to detail required to learn the market dynamics of a number of product categories in depth
•Background using web analytics desirable
