To ensure that financial systems are operating effectively and to resolve, or co-ordinate the resolution of any technical issues including Sage 500, its associated ancillary software and the interfaces with other operational systems. To assist in the development of new and improved financial and performance reports through Business Objects and Excel or other data transformation software.
Ongoing Systems Administration • Ensuring that Financial System Sage 500 is run efficiently and that issues are either dealt with locally or though support contracts with third party support providers. • Co-ordinate finance systems support with internal IS department staff and establish operating models for support. Provide 1st level support as may be required to Sage 500 v6 and its associated ancillary software. • Maintain existing system interfaces to accommodate any changes made to source systems or Sage. • Ensure data integrity between systems. System Development • In conjunction with Finance teams, develop Business objects reports (or other data transformation software ) for improved reporting. • Train internal Finance Staff in the use of Business Objects and intermediate / advanced level excel applications to include the macro language VBA - visual basic for applications.
Who we're looking for
Technical • Significant expertise of working with Sage financial systems and administration of the system. • Ability to review SQL and P/SQL scripts and recode as required. • DOS bat files to invoke SQL and to run scripts / stored procedures. • Thorough understanding of relational databases and in particular Oracle. •Expertise in creating Business Objects universe, and the extraction and manipulation of data for use by financial staff. • Intermediate level Excel skill. • A list of applicable software is provided as a footnote.
