Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Reporting to the Technical Manager and working within the engineering team, you will be responsible for aspects of the design from conception to sign off and be heavily involved in associated calculations for verification and detailed design. You will also be responsible for managing the implementation of innovative solutions & design changes. Working within a small team you will be expected to use your own initiative to deliver projects within specification and on time. This requires an individual that is extremely organised and capable of clearly communicating with contract designers, manufacturers and colleagues.

Who we're looking for
Educated to degree level or above, either chartered or about to become so, you will be a self motivated and task orientated Engineer used to working within a small to medium sized business unit.You will have good working knowledge of basic engineering principles and be able to create designs selecting the right materials for the application. Experience of working with engineering standards would be a distinct advantage. You will have a strong design background and be familiar with stress /fatigue analysis and related testing packages,as well as having excellent interpersonal skills.
