You will be responsible for;
• Preparation of cases for prosecution to include consideration of exhibits, drafting of witness statements, advice upon interviews under caution, advice upon evidence and unused material and commencement of proceedings
• Defending regulatory prosecutions often involving fatal accidents to cover preparing for interviews under caution, liaison with regulators and advice upon strength of evidence and plea.
• Advising upon police requests for information in criminal or regulatory investigations
• Conduct of advocacy in Magistrates Courts and at Inquests
• Advising public bodies in particular NHS Trusts on police powers and procedures often in sensitive cases with media interest
• Client Risk Management advice

Who we're looking for
You should possess the following:

• A background practicing criminal law or significant experience of criminal law.
• Preferably 2 years or more experience of regulatory work in particular health and safety defence whether prosecuting or defending.
