The Mechanical Engineer is a key engineering role responsible for the development and delivery of the mechanical engineering functions for the site. The role will be responsible for setting up and maintaining high standards of safety, statutory compliance condition monitoring, continuous improvement and people development to enable maximum plant reliability from the plant assets.

The role reports to the Engineering Manager and manages the Mechanical Team consisting of Mechanical Technicians. The jobholder will also be responsible for all mechanical contractors on site. It is also planned that a future apprentice training program will be implemented which will require a large input.

Who we're looking for
Successful applicants will possess detailed knowledge of mechanical equipment used in continuous processes and will have a proven track record of working in a technical management position on a large scale industrial site. The job holder will also be highly competent in interpersonal, coaching, team leadership and analytical skills.

The following list of qualifications defines the level of underpinning knowledge to support the contribution required of the role:
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Chartered Engineer (or working towards)
• Member of Institution of Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
• NEBOSH certificate

About our client
Our client are an emerging presence within the Process Industry. As part of their on-site strategy all mechanical engineering processes and systems need to be fully developed and implemented and,as a result,they are recruiting a senior mechanical engineer
