Category Manager/Merchandiser

Within the new Category Management structure we are looking for both Buyers and Merchandisers who can help drive the continued growth of this exciting International business;

Category Manager responsibilities include;
• Define, communicate and implement the category strategy
• Responsible for both sales and margin growth
• Responsible for sourcing, development, selection, ranging, pricing and trading the category products
• Develop supplier partnerships to achieve the best trading terms, stock availability and capacity to support growth
• Managing the category team including the Category Merchandiser and Category Assistant

Category Merchandiser responsibilities include;
• Working with the Category Manager to deliver an end to end process from sourcing, selection, through to sales.
• Customer, market and sales analysis to ensure recommendations to drive performance are made to the Category Manager
• Work closely with the supply chain and inventory teams to ensure stock availability is industry leading
• Liaise with the interface team to ensure product presentation and descriptions are maximised to drive sales and the ease of shopping experience
To assist with supplier management and at times negotiation to deliver the most competitive commercial terms possible.

Who we're looking for
We are looking for Buying & Merchandising candidates who have a proven track record of delivering sales and margin growth. Whilst a range of roles exists across the categories the need for commercial operators who can thrive in a fast paced autonomous environment exists at all levels. You will be a proven and passionate operator who has customer requirements at the heart of your decision making process. This experience is likely to have been gained within the commercial function of a retail head office.

Whilst knowledge of cycling products are desirable this is not essential. Our product areas include cycles, accessories, components, apparel and sports nutrition.
