The business is offering a unique opportunity for a newly qualified ACA candidate from a top ten practice to kick off their industry career in a wide and varied role as Financial Controller.
Reporting into the Finance Director you will take responsibility for a significant subsidiary within the group. Managing a small transactional team you will also gain exposure across the business liaising with project managers and holding review meetings with operational heads.
Additional duties include:
• Management of the day to day running of the Finance Department and supervision of Finance staff
• Recommend changes that will improve the company's financial performance and financial controls
• Prepare the monthly management reporting both internally and externally
• Prepare the financial statements for the Group of Companies
• Develop systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective management of the company's finances
• Using a financial control framework, including financial accountabilities and authorities to ensure full financial control
• To develop and control a centralised accounting system to ensure that accounts are effectively managed
• Act as the main point of contact to external auditors, insurers and bankers
• Ensure accounting policies comply with the relevant accounting standards and that group policies are followed

Essential qualities include:
• Strong Excel skills (Pivot tables and lookups)
• Up to date knowledge of UKGAAP & IFRS
• Knowledge of accounting for long term contracts
• Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
Candidates with substantial industry secondments or exposure to special projects are of particular interest.
