Asset Manager

The Asset Manager will ensure that the whole life cycle of assets are managed and the minimum integrity standards of the building & civil assets are exceeded across the airport. This will be achieved by effective maintenance planning that is issued to underpin this and the achievement of operational availability targets, ensuring that everything works when it needs to, whilst always ensuring capacity for the future.

• Accountable for Asset management using Asset Stewardship and other industry methodologies to support business units.

• Accountable for the integrity of assets and ensuring they are appropriately audited / reviewed and that corrective maintenance is implemented to address any deficiencies which could lead to breach of statutory duty or inappropriate loss of service.

• Ensure that the competency standards for those who work on Business or Safety Critical Assets are clearly established and recorded on work plans and to ensure that the maintenance teams are fully conversant with the requirements for deploying appropriately skilled resources.


• Ensure that for all assets, planned work maintenance regimes are in place which delivers operational availability targets at optimum cost, this to include plans for all statutory inspections. Furthermore to ensure that asset expiry projections are communicated to customers on an on going basis such that replacement activity can be affected timely.

• Ensure that planned work plans and the associated costs are prepared and that the Head of Engineering is effectively supported in agreeing budgets with customers during the budgeting cycle. Subsequently ensure budget plans are converted into the effective and efficient maintenance work programmes.

• Ensure that new fit for purpose assets are delivered into the airport environment with fully compliant maintenance plans, records and revenue budgets.

• Ensure that projects are handed over fully prepared for ease of maintenance, including the provision of accurate and complete handover records.

• Ensure that internal and external SLA's are developed and agreed, that management by information is practised, and delivers the service level standard.

• Assist in the management of accurate engineering records so that they are maintained sufficient to meet airport business and regulatory need

Who we're looking for
Qualifications and experience

•An engineering based qualification in appropriate discipline is essential, to degree level or equivalent is desirable,

• Appropriate experience in a maintenance environment. Specific Airport experience is desirable though not essential.

• Experienced in working within a broad range of assets.
