As Interim Packaging Buyer your key accountabilities and responsibilities will include:

• Review and simplify current transactional processes within procurement and linkages to planning, logistics and other departments across the supply chain
• Provide additional capacity to the procurement team;
• Review and evaluate the capability of the current procurement MRP module and recommend improvements;
• Provide first class understanding of your portfolio deliver best practice procurement. Assist and support supplier segmentation review project. (To include data gathering and analysis);
• Act in a bridging capacity between procurement operations and strategic service development initiatives.
This is a short term assignment whereby you will work directly for my client and be paid on a monthly basis.

Who we're looking for
To be successful in this position you will:

Qualifications / Experience:

• You will be a competent experienced Buyer with previous experience of working within an FMCG environment
• A background within purchasing packaging is essential, with exposure to plastics, card & films
• Preferably CIPS qualified or part qualified
• Capable of and happy to operate at transactional/tactical level
• Project management skills (ideally supported by a formal methodology such as Prince 2)
• Skilled at devising and implementing controls, systems and processes to improve the contribution procurement makes to the business and also reduce NVA
• Effective stakeholder management skills
• Strong communication and presentation skills
