Our client is looking for an Audit Partner within the Group Finance and HR team. This senior management position, reporting to the Audit Director - Group Finance, Treasury and HR will form a key part of the Audit Management with global responsibility for setting up a Centre of Expertise. Applicants should have experience auditing a finance, treasury and HR function.

Purpose of the role: how it adds value


Lead all aspects of a high-quality, cost-effective audit service delivery programme into the Business; including production of a quarterly audit plan, putting in place a team with the right experience to deliver it, and preparation of reports and analyses of audit work for the business. This will result in the continuous improvement of risk management and control processes, leading to a strong control environment across the Business which translates into fewer control failures and a lower cost of control.

Deliver reliable audit opinions covering key processes to senior executives across the designated service area. Contribute significantly to the Opinion delivered to the Chief Executive of the Business and to the Group Opinion delivered to the Board.
Build high impact relationships at senior executive levels across the Business and ensure that Audit supports the senior executives in achieving their objectives. Attend or represent the Head of Audit at executive management meetings and audit committees as required. Champion continuous improvement of risk management and control processes across the Business and the Group as opportunities arise.

Be a 'centre of expertise' in the particular business area for the rest of the function, passing on experience and knowledge proactively for the benefit of the whole department.

Lead and develop the audit team, passing down day-to-day audit management to the senior audit managers and team leaders, and engaging the cluster co-ordinator to provide scheduling and operational support to the team.

Who we're looking for
Experience:

Auditing, accounting and/or financial services involving senior management and/or executive positions in a complex, global financial services organisation.

Fundamental understanding of the Business and organisational change within a global financial services organisation including all related risks.
Maintaining high impact relationships with senior executives in global businesses.

Staff development in a professional environment.

Senior leadership role within a professional environment preferably where the individual has had to operate effectively within a matrix structure where planning and interpersonal skills were critical to success.

In depth knowledge of Finance in banking / financial services including investment banking products.

Technical knowledge of Financial and Regulatory Reporting including IFRS, BASEL and FSA requirements.

Professional Qualified Accountant within financial services ( Big 4 or Banking experience).
Technical Knowledge:

Deep understanding of the Business and related risks within a complex financial services organisation.

Professional qualification or equivalent.
Scope of Role:

Audit service across the Business.

Joint and several accountability with other Audit Partners in the cluster for the Opinions and service provided across the Business.

Assistance across Group Internal Audit where Finance or individual expertise is required.
