Our client has a unique opportunity for a Managing Director to join and lead the UK operation of a well respected and recognised International business. As Managing Director for the UK operation you will be expected to deliver sustainable growth and fulfil the group's vision and goals. Fully responsible for the financial performance of the UK operations you will need to drive improvement in production, engineering, administration and quality. To facilitate the required growth and in a drive to improve overall quality, it will be vital that lean manufacturing principles are employed and a continuous improvement culture is established across the business. Ensuring improved efficiency levels are attained, quality becomes central to production and customer service is culturally embedded will all be required to achieve expected results for the UK Operation overall. As Managing Director you will be expected to take the leading role in all these areas and be sufficiently skilled in mentoring and coaching to develop the existing management team to required levels. Underpinning everything that is considered fundamental to the success of this business will be your ability to establish a robust and positive culture that will enthuse and invigorate both management and employees alike.

Who we're looking for
You will have a background in high volume, highly automated continuous process manufacturing and be able to show a clear track record of progression within this area. With a likely background in operations / production you will have managed a P&L within a comparable environment before and be able to demonstrate a track record of delivering change, improved efficiencies and business growth. A skilled negotiator you will need to have experience of managing within a unionised environment and be able to maintain strong relationships whilst achieving business objectives. You must exhibit real leadership skills and be able to inspire and organise in equal measures. Personal drive, enthusiasm and passion will all be required to deliver the next phase of growth for this leading manufacturing business.
