A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Business Planning Partner. As the suitable candidate you will:
• Lead on drafting a detailed work plan and timetable for the BU planning round, including setting up all BU and divisional meetings in advance
• Facilitate the cascading and translating of strategy and key priorities from ExCo, to ensure coherence of BU priorities and plans with these
• Work closely with Divisional Directors to inform and develop the content of their individual one and three year business plans, and consolidate these into a single BU Business plan supported by Chief of Staff
• Lead on drafting the BU's input into the annual Business Plan and Annual Report
• Work with the relevant Performance Team lead to translate the BU's plans into key deliverables and measurable targets
• Ensure effective mechanisms are in place to monitor key deliverables and performance measures
• Facilitate the Business Performance Reviews, working closely with the BU to establish expectations around their future and in year performance
Who we're looking for
My client is looking for a candidate with:
• Proven ability to quickly and proactively gain an in-depth understanding of business objectives and initiatives both at an organisational and strategic level and the impact of these on planning and resource issues
• Ability to apply own understanding of the business, and of regulatory, financial and strategic context issues to guide business planning activity, and to exploit business opportunities, and manage change and improvement initiatives
• Ability to think and plan at a strategic level, including proactively keeping up to date with external and organisational changes, understanding and anticipating potential implications and forward planning to address these
• Understanding of project management techniques, and track record of effectively using these to deliver complex projects in partnership with multiple stakeholder
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to spot issues, think innovatively about these and deliver pragmatic solutions and processes, making decisions that meet business needs
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including presentation, influencing and negotiation and diplomacy skills.
• Gravitas and a proven ability to gain respect and secure buy-in from senior stakeholders .
• Must be numerate, and able to demonstrate sound numerical and financial reasoning ability
