Sales Manager - Electro-Optic Materials

Role Overview
In this position you are dedicated to increasing sales at Umicore Coating Services (UCS) by leading a small team to find new customers and manage relationships with existing customers. UCS is a growing company within the Electro-Optic Materials business unit and over the next 3 years increasing sales are required in order to meet the business targets. You will develop relationships with new and existing customers and as such continue growth in sales year on year. You will manage a team of sales people and support staff to achieve your goals.
Responsibilities
• You lead the UCS Sales Team:
* Prospect for new customers.
* Support and contact with existing customers.
* Responsible for generating orders.
* Champion the customer within UCS.
• You interact with production to ensure customer satisfaction.
• You are responsible for marketing activities, including planning and execution of advertising and exhibitions, preparation of monthly sales reporting and overall marketing plans.
• You monitor budgets and pricing such as budget planning, price setting and deciding on marketing expenditures.
• You provide budget and pricing input into the UCS strategic plan in conjunction with the Managing Director.
• You actively participate in commercial related projects in cross departmental and international context.


Who we're looking for
We are looking for a candidate who can offer relevant commercial experience within this Industry. In addition the following attributes are perceived as essential
• A Bachelor Degree in a relevant discipline.
• Sales experience in a Business-to-Business environment.
• An adaptive style of management - Able to manage a small, successful niche team within a substantial organisation.
• Ability to build, maintain and utilise your network of relevant candidates.
• Ability to manage budgets and work confidently with targets.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
• European Experience, with French or German Language skills useful rather than essential.
• Experience in selling to the SME market (50-200 heads) and achieving repeat business.
• Experience in Optics, coatings experience is an advantage.
• Travel should be roughly a week per month.

Our client is a small butprofitable and growing part of Umicore based in Dundee. With a turnover which has grown 50% in 5 years to £2m there are ambitious plans to build on this in the coming years. A technology rather than commodity led part of Umicore there is great scope for creativity within the business. Currently with a headcount of 25 in Dundee, the growth will include building a bigger sales team which the successful applicant with have significant input upon.
