The Finance Director will provide a first-class, hands-on accounting capability, leading the finance team to provide simple, accurate and value-added financial information for the management of the business and to the board. They will work closely with the Managing Director, providing commercial and risk insight and analysis that will help ensure the business grows rapidly while maintaining strong control of its risk profile.
Key responsibilities:
Management of the financial function of the business including a finance team of six
Supporting the Managing Director in the development of the business
Managing the annual audit and managing the relationship with all third party advisors
Management of the risk assessment team
Management of the IT team
Overseeing all Company Secretarial, AML and Data Protection issues
Playing an active role as a member of the Board
Who we're looking for
Applications are invited from high-calibre qualified accountants (ideally ACA) with a proven track record of providing a first class reporting and control function to a rapidly-expanding SME and experience of developing and producing analytical management information. Possession of a good academic record, great leadership and team-building skills and a successful career to date are pre-requisites.
This role will suit someone who enjoys being hands-on in financial reporting and analysis but also heavily involved in the running of a business. As a result, the successful candidate will need to have good technical knowledge, a commercial mindset and an analytical brain.

The business is looking to increase its growth rate significantly in 2012, with a view to ending next year with a loan book comfortably in excess of £100m.
