Oracle Data Specialist

FMCG

Somerset

Permanent

Updated April 30, 2012

My client has operations across Europe, each with their own local systems. To ensure data and reporting harmony across the group, the CIO is implementing an IT Strategy to overlay the systems in each country with a group Data Warehouse tied to a group Master Data Management system.

There is currently an opening for an Oracle Data Specialist to take ownership of this environment, utilising both Oracle Warehouse Builder
(OWB) and Oracle Product Hub (Oracle PIM). The role will be responsible for the Oracle E-Business Suite Systems Administration.

The Oracle Data Specialists role will be to own day to day maintenance and support of Oracle OWB and PIM as well as any ongoing systems development. You will be part of a small team, working closely with other technical staff as well as users.

The Oracle Data Specialist will frequently work with users. This will be addressing data integrity issues, but also working on business process improvement projects, so strong communication skills will be vital. This is a great chance to develop further technical skills, but also to make a real difference to business users.

Who we're looking for
The Oracle professional will have E-Business Suite functional and technical skills, a background in datawarehousing and DBA work and will have worked in both development and support roles.

- Demonstrable experience of OAF extensions, Workflow, PL/SQL and FNDLOAD
- Good working knowledge of E-Business administration functions
- Experience of administering Oracle 10g and 11g databases
- Excellent Oracle SQL/PLSQL skills
- Ability to work and communicate directly with business and technical people

Other desirable skills include:

- Oracle Product Hub (PIM) functional knowledge, API and Item open interface experience
- Practical experience of the EBS Business Events Framework
- Understanding of web services and the use of XML Publisher within E-Business Suite
- Oracle Warehouse Builder, or similar ETL tools with experience of dimensional modelling
- Business Objects, or similar reporting suites
