Business Services firm based in London W1 is looking for a Network Engineer. The role is to ensure the operation of the local in-house computer network, telephony and telecommunications and server infrastructure as well as support the global network and data centre and satellite office Infrastructure. This includes planning, developing, installing and configuring, maintaining and supporting, and optimizing all network and telephony hardware, software, and communication links, installation and support of Windows servers, virtualization technology such as VMWare and Citrix XenApp, and other applications such as Lotus Notes, File/Print/Scan and various other application environments. The person will also analyze and resolve network hardware and software problem, Server and connectivity issues, application performance issues in a timely and accurate fashion.As the Infrastructure Engineer you will be solely responsible for managing all support, upgrades and projects within internal IT. Due to the broad nature of the role, you will be tasked with completing 1st to 3rd Line responsibilities.
As the sole technical lead for supporting my client's internal IT services, you will need to continually drive to improve their capabilities. This will include producing documentation and putting in place processes & procedures for Change Control. Administering an effective Change Control process is important to the business. For all projects you will be expected to carry out risk assessments, stakeholder management and sticking to an effective process.
Who we're looking for
Required:
•Strong knowledge of Microsoft Server (2003/2008) and Back Office products specifically Microsoft Exchange and SharePoint administration.
• Excellent knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and TCP/IP
• CCNE, CCIE or MCSE+ qualification
•Proven track of managing and configuring enterprise-wide LANs, WANS, WLANs, VPNs, server and SAN infrastructure
• Demonstrable knowledge of troubleshooting hardware such as routers, bridges, switches, hubs, modems, network interface cards, Cisco all models, various models of IDS.
• Demonstrable knowledge of various routing protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, etc.
• Demonstrable Knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching including STP, RSTP and Ether Channel
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Server (2003/2008) and Back Office products specifically Microsoft Exchange and SharePoint administration.
• Excellent knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and TCP/IP
Desired:
• IT Degree or equivalent
• Understanding of QOS engineering and tuning and WAN bandwidth management
• Capability to work with various SAN technologies such as EMC & HP storage products.
