The People Services group delivers services ranging from taxation and compliance advice for private clients, to assisting organisations in areas such as International Executive Services. We also assist pension funds (or the companies that sponsor them) to manage pensions issues. Our activities are diverse in scope, but can be grouped according to the different business issues they help our clients address.
Roles and Responsibilities • Managing a portfolio of clients, including acting as one of the main points of contact for the client and liaising with other advisors • Advising client regarding any planning opportunities (CGT, IT, IHT) • Advice regarding setting up UK and offshore trusts and reviewing existing trusts to establish the UK tax treatment of these structures • Transaction related advice (e.g. sale of owner-managed businesses) • Confirming tax efficiency of investment • Managing WIPs and issuing fees on a timely basis
Who we're looking for
Qualifications and Skills • Strong client handling skills and the ability to develop good relationships with clients and other professionals • Interest in business development and in the promotion of the department both internally and externally with a view to generating work • The individual would be expected to delegate effectively, review work and have the ability to encourage and foster the development of the more junior members of the department • Committed to driving forward the growth of the practice. • The individual should have a strong interest in the technical side of tax, which represents itself in a high level of technical work. • Inheritance tax and capital gains tax, include international aspects such as residence and domicile • The taxation of trusts, including offshore trusts and the provisions of Section 720 ITA 2007 • Familiarity with other areas such as the taxation of share options, the use of employee benefit trusts, investment wrappers etc and preferably experience of corporate issues relevant to advising entrepreneurs.
