The Risk Assessment and Anti-Money-Laundering role will include:
Develop and maintain the Risk Assessment function covering anti-money laundering (AML), sanctions, and anti-bribery and anti-corruption or the bank.
Adapt existing and develop new procedures for risk assessment, enabling effective identification, management and mitigation of anti-money laundering and anti-corruption risk.
Provide the strategic link for proactive risk evaluation between the Anti Money Laundering, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption disciplines coordinating a structured Risk Assessment process.
Provide support and oversight of Business Unit Risk Assessment remaining cognisant of applicable legal and regulatory obligations alongside commercial business drivers.
Produce reports of the quality that can be shared with the firm's top executive management, though robust challenge, crystal clarity, timely escalation and identification of emerging issues.
Development and maintenance of the Risk Assessment methodology and approach and monitor regulatory and industry developments and reflect against the internal position to inform awareness, risk management and policy development.
Provide feedback to the MLRO on emerging trends in order to ensure correct functioning of the existing systems and controls and improved design of the same (including policies).
Assist the MLRO in proactively identifying improvements needed within the AML Systems and Controls across the group, continuously seeking more efficient and effective performance of the overall framework.
Manage interaction with stakeholders that span multiple businesses, functions and geographies within the firm.
Who we're looking for

• An approachable, straightforward, resilient and persuasive personality, with strong negotiation, communication and influencing skills.
• Natural team player as well as leader - ability to encourage, engage and empower.
• Solid understanding of Risk Assessments in a Compliance and Financial Crime arena.
• Able to think outside the box and demonstrate sound judgement.
• Proven exposure to working with and effectively influencing executive level stakeholders
• Understanding of relevant global and UK regulatory and banking environment
• A strong commercial awareness - able to think strategically and act decisively.
• Previous exposure to AML, Sanctions and B&C matters.
• Strong AML, Sanctions and Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption compliance skills
