This is an exceptional role for a forward thinking Financial Accountantto join an impressive manufacturing company. A crucial position reporting directly into the Financial Controller requires a high calibre candidate with a proven track record. You will be providing vital support to the Senior Management Team and making informed decisions on how to drive business forward.
The ideal candidate will be commercially aware, personable and an excellent communicator. You will be looking for a challenge within a highly rewarding environment. It is important that the successful candidate can deliver on the short term whilst ensuring sustainability and profitability for the medium and long term
Key responsibilities
• Supporting the Finance Manager in achieving the objectives of the department.
• Completion of the management accounts.
• Ensuring reconciliation of sales and cost of sales from the general ledger system to the management accounts.
• Ensuring that we have complete integrity within our stock accounting system
• Completion of all relevant accruals and prepayments within the month.
• Accurate reporting with HFM / local systems of the management accounts with explanations of all material profit and loss variances.
• Accurate and timely completion of reporting for the designated entity, both weekly and monthly.
• Accurate and timely completion of all balance sheet accounts for the entity.
• Assisting the finance manager with any forecasting and budgeting relating to entity.
• Review of current procedures with a view to recommending best practice changes.
• Any other ad-hoc management accounts related duties as requested by line management
• Effectively perform your duties whilst acting at all times in accordance with the Dignity at Work Policy, Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and our values of Integrity, Intensity, Innovation and Involvement.
• Embrace and participate in PPI initiatives to identify process improvements and cost savings to the business.
Who we're looking for
• The position requires a qualified accountant with relevant experience within a changing finance department.
• The individual must be able to work as both part of a team and on their own initiative, be flexible and to question current practices with the target of improving the department to achieve modern best practices.
• The person must have the ability to influence others and be clear in arguments for change to ensure that all processes are thoroughly reviewed and updated.
• Ability to work accurately and within strict deadlines.
• Excellent communication and persuasion skills
• Good commercial awareness
• Ability to manage relationships both internally and externally
• Knowledge and experience of accounting packages; competent in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
