This is an important role in the lubricants business to ensure continuity of service to its customers, you will be responsible for up to 20 sites across Europe & Africa working with the sales/demand planners ensuring accuracy of information being supplied to both the Supply Chain team and Finance which is used to drive the MRP system (SAP APO)and financial forecasting. This isa major part of the integrated planning process to ensure the business has an accurate vision of volumes and financial forecasts.
Key responsibilities will be:
• Lead and manage robust, high quality demand planning and demand control processes across the OU, driving continuous improvement in forecast accuracy (both volume & financial)
• Lead the network of Demand Managers and Demand Planners in E&A.
• Manage and develop the interface between Demand and Supply
• Lead improvements in Demand Planning capability in the OU
• Ensure that supporting systems are robust, fit for purpose and efficient
• Be part of the global demand management network driving consistency and best practice across the SPU.
• Identify gaps between latest Demand Plans and E&A goals, and develop options for gap closure.
• Represent the E&A Sales Function on the IR (Integrated Reconciliation) team
• Provide the link between the Regional Product Management Review and the Market Demand Reviews.
Who we're looking for
You will have good knowledge of SAP, in particular the APO function, within this you will be able to give examples of driving efficiencies through automation and effective coaching.
Your background will include both volume and financial forecasting which will have been working as part of a fully integrated planning process - with key stakeholders including, Supply Chain & Finance.
It is important you have strong business experience in complex organisations such as BP and a solid business acumen.
You will have substantial experience in demand planning and forecasting (volume & financial)and be able to fluently discuss a supply chain and give examples of work experience.
You will be able to give examples of managing remote teams and influencing others without line responsibility.
As a person you will be:
•Strong with statistics and manipulating data (both financial & volumes)
•Confident at speaking out - even if it is not good news
•A self starter, capable of self managing
•Excellent at communicating and influencing others.
A second European language would be an advantage
Ideally you will be degree qualified or higher
You will be prepared to travel to Europe & Africa frequently.
