Engineering Manager - Systems

Direct reports:
• 2 Systems Designers, 4 Principal Engineers and 1 Systems Development Engineer

Scope of Role:
Take specific responsibility for the following areas within the company:
1. Management and direction of staff
2. Design & Development of new products through the NPI process
3. Support to business development in terms of winning new business and customer product support
4. Technical support to Operations
5. Generation and implementation of ideas in support of the business technology roadmap and strategic plans
In addition to the above duties, the Engineering Manager is encouraged to promote the best practice with respect to Lean Product Development, concurrent engineering and a thorough Systems Engineering approach. The Engineering Manager will actively support the development of departmental procedures that streamline and support the NPI process.

Who we're looking for
• Proven track record in a senior technical position within a company strongly involved in electromechanical components, systems or sub-systems
• Current and thorough knowledge of fluid mechanical components such as fans, pumps, compressors, or heat engines
• Aerospace, defence industry knowledge or closely related industry
• A working knowledge of engineering design methods and techniques
• Knowledge of typical NPI processes
• Significant experience in project management
• Knowledge of the suite of typical development tests - design validation, qualification, accelerated testing, and stress screening
• Knowledge of manufacturing technologies and Lean Manufacturing principles
