This project is intended to develop and implement a stores strategy, which supports and is aligned to the overall operations and maintenance strategy. It will ensure both the accurate recording and appropriate management of inventory across the UK business. Responsibilities include: • To implement interim stock procedure until full project is delivered to address key weaknesses in existing procedures • To establish new clear policy and procedures for inventory management • To define what is to be held on stock in terms of critical, non-critical items, consumables etc., together with min/max/reorder levels • To identify and eliminate obsolete and duplicate items from stock • To locate a central stores with required infrastructure and storage facilities, and satellite stores for regular/consumable items • To establish bin numbering and location system • To implement a computerised stock control system linked to purchasing and accounts systems (likely to be Pronto) • To ensure maintenance planning procedures are in place to check stock levels before ordering spares for overhauls • To document stores management procedures • To define measures to record and improve stores performance • To roll out the new stores management procedures and train relevant personnel
Who we're looking for
The right candidate will have a proven track record in the following: • Delivery of budget for approval for expenditure for overall stores improvement project • Implementation of interim stock procedure until full project is delivered • Evaluation of existing stores processes • Definition of stores strategy with documented policy and procedures • Review, specification, and building of required infrastructure and systems including physical stores, definition of items and their classification, min/max/EOQ levels, and computerised stock management system • Training of staff in operation of stores management systems and procedures •Implementation of KPI's to monitor and optimise future stores performance
