Role Purpose:
Recruiting a commercial astute Manufacturing Cost / Management Accountant to support the Finance Director and operations.
Duties / Responsibility:
• Supervision of day to day activities of the business accounting function.
•Preparation of accurate weekly/monthly management information including sales, purchases, stocks, expenses and KPI's
• KPI's - ensure accuracy, usefulness and understanding of all KPI's - this will include working closely with business management to help them understand and have positive impact on their performance.
• Margin reconciliation - enhance reporting structure with margin information/variance analysis by product and function.
• Stock management; variance analysis, reconciliations
• Forecasting: preparation of weekly/monthly profit forecast and measure against subsequent performance
• Budget -assist in preparation of budgets and measure against subsequent performance
• Weekly accounts - understanding movements and variances from previous week, forecasts and budgets.
• Product costing - prepare and subsequently validate product costing for new products, product changes
• Promotional evaluation - pre and post promotional evaluation with the sales team.
• Capital expenditure - preparation of CAPEX applications, validation of costs and benefits, manage subsequent spend, post implementation review.
Who we're looking for
My client is offering a superb position, but equally they require a talented accountant who meets the following credentials:
• Ideally a professionally qualified accountant (likely to be CIMA)
• Manufacturing exposure, recent and in a key decision making capacity
• Product Costings exposure in recent years
• Management Accounting and Commercial Analysis acumen
• IT Literacy
• Pro-activity, bright, high intellect, strong communicator with non-finance management.

My client is a growing, niche food manufacturing with a brand synonymous for premium quality. Due to growth, the Finance Director wishes to recruit a commercially astute Management Accountant to lead accounting processes from costings to commercial analysis. The role in based in an easily accessible location near to Preston, Lancashire.
