Procurement Commodity Executive

The successful incumbent will be responsible for the management and development of strategic and preferred suppliers. Working within the relevant business unit, the post holder will lead a structured supplier management program that will deliver improved supplier performance, relationship, risk management and costs. Through a process of continuous improvement, the post holder will use innovative procurement solutions and collaboration of people and technology to provide a supply base that meets the needs of the business.

Areas of Responsibility:

• Supplier qualification
• Formulate, implement and update commodity strategy
• Develop key supplier relationships
• Implement material cost reductions
• Continuous supplier performance improvement to deliver best in class supply base
• Support new product introduction
• Contribute to overall sourcing strategy
• Supplier KPI management and reporting
• Maintain appropriate benchmarks and market analysis for each supplier / commodity group
• Identify and implement a global sourcing strategy with each supplier
• Direct materials budget analysis
• Savings tracking and reporting
• Comply with Siemens business processes

Who we're looking for
Experience Required:

• A track record of working in procurement within an engineering environment.
• Experience working with engineers and in and around new product introduction.
• Project management.
• Professional qualification (CIPS desirable) or business knowledge
• Commodity hedging knowledge
• Strong commercial and negotiation skill set
• Experience of working in a cross functional environment and intercultural awareness
