Reporting directly to the Engineering Director, this business-critical role leads the engineering activities within London Midland to ensure the safety and reliability of a fleet of over 500 diesel and electric rail vehicles. The role is responsible for leading a highly skilled Engineering management team in specifying, measuring and auditing maintenance, train presentation and operational standards and processes, investigating technical incidents, and devising and implementing fleet technical improvements. The role also acts as the Professional Head of Engineering for London Midland.
Who we're looking for
The successful candidate will be an experienced Chartered Mechanical or Electrical Engineer with a proven record of achievement within the rail industry or related sector. You will be responsible for leading a team of engineers technically and must be a subject-matter specialist in rolling stock maintenance, repair and reliability, but you must also be an inspirational leader capable of getting the best from your team.

What's on offer
