Business Development Manager

Reporting to the firm's Head of Business Development & Marketing, the Business Development Manager will also work closely with the Practice Group Heads, fee earners, the Head of Marketing & Communications and the Marketing team.
The duties will include:

• Planning and implementation of Business Development strategy
• Managing Business Development activities across all jurisdictions
• Budgeting for Business Development activities
• Planning and implementation of the Key Client and Key Intermediary programmes
• Identifying and supporting cross-selling initiatives
• Supplying content for directory submissions
• Conference planning including: sponsorship, speaker opportunities and attendance
• Managing the seminar/external training programme
• Researching target clients and markets
• Securing articles and client briefings from the fee earners to promote 'thought leadership'
• Ensuring 'highlight deal' information is collated and distributed promptly

Who we're looking for
This is a crucial hire for the firm and we are therefore looking for the highest calibre applicant. Previous experience working either within the Trusts & Private Client/Litigation practice group an advantage.

Core requirements are:

• Strong interpersonal skills
• The ability to maintain focused on objectives, developing excellent working relationships with the partners, fee earners and support staff
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Demonstrable knowledge of Business Development concepts
• Project management skills: ability to manage and prioritise tasks, time, budgets and people in order to meet deadlines
• Strong commercial acumen: awareness and appreciation of the importance of return on Business Development & Marketing investment
