Head of Commercial Finance

You will report into the Group Finance Director and be responsible for leading the Commercial Finance Team. The Commercial Finance Function is the financial business partner to the Retail Business and Group Board, providing financial insight and support to ensure optimal commercial decision making. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

• Acting as a trusted partner to Halfords Executive providing the right balance of challenge and support around commercial decision making
• Leading and developing a high performing team
• Providing commercial decision making support to the Retail Business
• The provision of financial analysis, commentary and challenge of sales, margin and costs
• Ensuring that retail planning and forecasting is robust, accurate and effective
• Ownership of Group planning and forecasting including longer term planning
• Taking a leadership role in reviewing and continuously improving the provision of Financial Management Information to ensure the business make better decisions.
• Project and investment decision making governance and control

The role demands a bright, graduate calibre, qualified accountant with a proven track record in a commercial finance role within a retail business. Additionally the successful candidate will have:
