As IS Project Manager you will be responsible for delivering business systems or infrastructure projects across a range of functions and business units, you will be reporting in to the IT Director and will join the IS senior management team.
Your responsibilities will include the following:-
• Working with suppliers and functional teams to ensure a coordinated approach to project implementation
• Managing the staff within the Projects area, mentoring and developing the people accordingly
• Ensuring that project risks and issues are communicated and mitigated so that the business is kept fully informed of progress, and impact on external customers is minimised
• Ensuring the project is planned and constantly kept up to date from start up to delivery
• Ensuring good project governance is followed
• Ensuring projects deliver functionality, efficiency savings, & cost reductions in line with stakeholder expectation
• Working with stakeholders to agree scope, feasibility, business case, costs, project timeline and ensuring projects are signed off.
Within the business, you will be expected to be highly communicative, building excellent relationships within the operational, commercial and IS areas of the business.
Who we're looking for
We are looking for a Senior Project Manager with demonstrable experience of the following:-
Managing multiple, concurrent business systems and infrastructure projects, within a corporate and structured environment.
• Managing relationships between external partners and internal stakeholders to deliver project objectives
• Supplier management within a project context
• Project business case development
• People management experience within a project context (matrix and line management)
• Sound judgement particularly in relation to project risk and issues management
• Stakeholder management
• Flexibility to change direction on a project if required for delivery and still remain in control
• Strong problem solving skills
• Budget management
The successful candidate will have worked in a fast paced, customer focused environment, such as Retail, Leisure, Hospitality or FMCG and will fully appreciate the part IS has to play in those industries.
Having a formal project management qualification such as Prince2, PMI or PMBok will be highly advantageous, as will having experience of working within a structured environment.
