To be the customer interface of the design studio, offering brand and print guidance and expertise across the organisation. Managing and organising the workflow of the design studio and external suppliers. Working with the creative services manager to produce collateral.
• To effectively manage the design studio workflow to ensure all customers experience excellent quality of service and customer service.
• Carry out day to day production tasks including filling out design briefs, communicating job fulfilment information to customers, scheduling work using in-house designer, freelancers or outside agencies.
• Account manage all accounts, ensuring that each job arrives to the customer on time and within budget.
• Brand delivery expert, offering advice to customers on the best options for their projects within the brand guidelines. Referring to the Creative Services manager as appropriate.
• Policing breeches of the brand guidelines, and following them up. Handling difficult situations, often with people more senior.
• Print production expert, offering advice to customers on the best and most cost effective options for their projects.
• Day to day management of the digital media library.
• Create and manage a bank of outsource artwork/design capabilities to deal with the increased workload or to cover the team in the event of holidays/illness. Manage these relationships in an ongoing basis.
• Build and maintain excellent relationships with internal departments and suppliers, sourcing new suppliers when necessary in accordance with procurement procedures.
• Negotiating print and other service requirements when necessary to ensure that Guide Dogs' receives the best prices. Ensure suppliers adhere to SLA's.
• Work with the team to deliver core communications collateral.
• Manage the Design Team annual budget under the guidance of the Creative services manager, including invoice processing.
• Dealing with enquires received via the design studio mailbox and the brand central mailbox.
• Picking up and design and typesetting jobs as required.
Who we're looking for
• The postholder must be of graduate calibre with experience of working with design, print, campaigns, online publications and asset management software. Experience of working directly with customers and comfortable offering advice as to the most effective way forward and challenging and negotiating as required.
• Knowledge of brand execution across a wide variety of different collateral. A good understanding of what it takes to maintain and develop the most productive client relationships. Good levels of numeracy and literacy.
• Good working knowledge of Mac design software (In Design, Quark, Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat, Dreamweaver, Flash) and Microsoft Office Products Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
