The Learning and Development Officer will need to be very organised, energetic and adaptable, enabling full and proactive management of the administrative needs of the Learning & Development Department.
The Learning and Development Officer will have excellent time management skills to determine and prioritise the general needs of L&D. A key part of their role will be to co-ordinate all the administration for training and induction activities with great attention to detail. This will require them to be highly organised, able to forward plan and to have excellent communication skills. They will also need to demonstrate a high level of flexibility in response to business needs. The Learning and Development Officer will act as as a central point of contact for the regionalised Learning and Development team so will need to be proactive and demonstrate flexibility in responding to the needs of the team.
There will be a need for flexibility in the hours of work.
Who we're looking for
KNOWLEDGE (include technical knowledge): • Excellent communication skills, particularly written. • Excellent organisational skills. • Advanced level in MS Word, Excel and Outlook, and PowerPoint. • Minimum typing speed of 50wpm
EXPERIENCE (include managerial experience and/or human relations experience): Essential • Experience of managing a Training/Learning Management System • Previous experience of working in an office environment as a senior administrator, secretary or personal assistant • Experience of prioritising own workload and in areas where attention to detail is required. • Experience in taking minutes and documenting action plans and following up on these.
QUALIFICATIONS: Essential • Educated to at least 'A' Level standard or equivalent, with GCSE in Maths and English. A Degree would be desirable. Desirable • A training related qualification (eg) Certificate in Training Practice
