Great opportunity for a Production Manager to join a nationally recognised organisation with operations overseas, to manage a large & successful production unit & instil a culture of continuous improvement based at theirLincolnshire Operation.
Overall responsibility for all Production management activities including dispatch, Goods in, Hygiene & Continuous Improvement. You will be working with theGeneral Managerto implement an expansive operational strategy to drive efficiencies to maximise profitability. One of the main KPI's will be to ensure that a full people management process and succession plan is put into operation. This will be driven through one to one's to maximise the skill base on the site establishing and implementing a universal working practice, team building, coaching and measurement strategy. A key driver for this role is to establish a culture of continuous improvement from shop floor upwards, by engaging / empowering staff and listening to their ideas and implement changes.
• Monitoring and ongoing management of unit costs of production while also instrumental in setting production goals, both to internal and external customer base.
• Ensure that product quality & customer service is at the forefront of every mind within the operation.
• You must understand and interpret performance reporting (e.g. OEE) and use those reports to drive improvements to the overall production operation from goods in to all the way through production to dispatch.
• To manage & Co-ordinate financial budgets for your operation and report them to the Business Unit Director on a daily/ weekly / monthly basis as required.
• Report KPI's at weekly Operations meetings.
• Ensure that all resources,including permanent or agency personnel & equipment are utilised to their maximum potential.
• You must make sure that the production operation complies at all times with all relevant Employment, Health, Safety & Environmental legislation.
Who we're looking for
A Production Manager who can demonstrate experience of dealing with high numbers of production & the ability to lead and develop a team from the front. You must be able to make key decisions for yourself & the needs of the business in the absence of theGeneral Managerand demonstrate where & when this has been done. Someone who is comfortable out on the production floor pushing out the high numbers in accordance with good manufacturing practise at all times. You must be someone who believes & has developed a succession plan for their team to help maximise the talent in the business. Someone who has used Continuous improvement techniques & skills as part of their job on an everyday basis.
