As the Data Manager, you will be responsible for the use of systems in school, in the raising standards and performance across the whole organisation. To create, oversee and develop the organisation's use of data for Staff. To utilise data through SIMS to inform on value added performance of individual teachers, subjects and departments, as well as management of staff.
• To act as Data Manager by managing the organisation's Information Management System (SIMS) and any other systems put in place.
• To be the point of contact for all matters relating to SIMS including access and user rights.
• To liaise with the ICT Service provider over operational issues connected to the SIMS software and to remain abreast of developments in the software.
• Be responsible for the production of reports and arranging the distribution to students following liaison with teaching staff;
• To ensure compliance with and administration of the requirements of the data protection and Freedom of Information Acts.
• Create and prepare complex strategic and operational data analysis for Faculties by key stage, year groups, set group. Exercise highly developed training skills in order to ensure that "non data specialists" can translate data results in the classroom to impact on student achievement.
• Create and devise data systems to highlight and improve in variations in organisation's performance.
• Lead staff through target setting process, data analysis, value added data, Raise Online and other processes.
• To manage various administration staff.
• To oversee the student services, exams and data functions to ensure that there is a clear strategy in place to develop these functions. Ensure that processes are in place to ensure that the strategy is successfully delivered day to day by direct reports.
Who we're looking for
A Data Manager with previous recent experience of SIMS (Schools Information Management System) is essential. also:
• Outstanding ICT skills and expertise with specialist equipment.
• Proficient use of Excel spreadsheets and databases.
• Good analytical skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in written form.
• Excellent inter-personal skills.
• The ability to manage time effectively and adhere to deadlines.
• Resilience and ability to work well under pressure. Effective time management with a minimum of supervision.
• An ability to analyse and manipulate data in a logical methodical and accurate manner.
• Experience of managing a small team.
