A Home Merchandiser in Bentalls of Kingston is a unique and varied role, supporting the Head of Merchandising and working closely with the Buying teams to control department budgets and stock levels in order to maximise profitable sales whilst ensuring the timely and continuous flow of merchandise.
As a Home Merchandiser in Bentalls of Kingston your key responsibilities will include:
• Producing and controlling accurate open to buy proposals in conjunction with Buying teams by analysing current, future and proposed season ranges
• Planning and building a balanced and commercial range in conjunction with Buying teams
• Creating and managing accurate forecasts for sales, stock and markdown
• Reviewing and managing out of stock/discontinued stock
• In conjunction with Head of Merchandising agree and implement terminal stock strategies for seasonally bought departments
• Monitor and review seasonal stock levels to ensure that terminal stock targets are achieved
• Manage both the size matrix and option count levels
• Produce forecast future stock level information and devise strategies to maintain the accuracy of this information
• Manage the intake of stock from point of receipt to shop floor
• Develop and implement strategies to create monthly closing stock targets by department
• Create and manage an appropriate and timely markdown strategy, ensuring that profit, net achieved margin and terminal stock levels are achieved
• Assist with the management reporting requirements
• Work with the buying teams to ensure that delivery dates are accurate
Who we're looking for
In order to be considered for this Home Merchandiser role at Bentalls of Kingston you will need:
• Advanced excel skills
• Be highly numerate and IT literate
• Attention to detail
• Strong influencing ability
• Good communication skills
• Used to working within a team
• High standard of planning and organising
• Knowledge of database systems would be desirable
• Background in Merchandising
