Our clientis hiring a new Public Relations Manager to join its award winning communications team. Reporting to the Head of Communications, the PR Manager will supervise a growing and very busy press office.

Responsibilities include:

• Line management of Scientific Press Officer
• Overseeingscience and business media relations activity
• Building relationships with key journalists from STM publishing trade and science/medicine media
• Generate strong media coverage for200+ journals
• Leadingthe company's communication activities for theirdeveloping world and Open Access Africa Initiatives.
• Project managing theirannual awards ceremony and staff day
• The PR Manager will also deputise for Head of Communications, assisting in corporate communications, internal communications and helping to develop and implementthe company's communication strategies.

Who we're looking for
Person specification:

• Extensive PR/Comms experience covering campaigns and press office management (experience in STM publishing desirable but not essential)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multitask effectively, manage conflicting deadlines and ensure that your work, and that of your team, is completed to schedule
• Excellent event management skills
• Understanding of the digital media landscape and knowledge ofsocial media channels
