Role description
Specific responsibilities include;
* Develop an annual plan for commodity sourcing activities, in conjunction with other appropriate functions, which will clearly identify how total acquisition, cost reductions objectives will be achieved.
* Responsible for ensuring that Business Units needs relating to cost, warranty and delivery performance are met.
* Develop long term supplier relationships through regular performance reviews and continually drive cost out of the supplier's business.
* Utilise appropriate tools and techniques effectively to ensure that Procurement delivers its cost and performance requirements e.g. CI, Open Book Costing.
* Develop an annual plan for commodity sourcing activities.
* Establish Requests for Quotations including commercial and technical requirements, evaluate and select suppliers offers, place orders and control file transfers
* Where relevant, accurately capture and communicate to the suppliers the relevant project-specific Documentation
* Assist in the identification and implementation of process improvements and support the implementation of Software Support development of Strategic Sourcing strategies

Experience & Qualifications:
* You will possess an assertive and perseverant personality, together with an ability to be both diplomatic and persuasive.
* You will also possess strong communication, presentation and relational skills and be able to deal effectively with all levels of management.
* Experience of managing internal stakeholder groups in delivering on time production schedules
* You will have advanced negotiation skills, be familiar with terms and conditions and have a 'cost reduction mindset'.
* You may have project management skills.
* Exposure to managing multiple categories such as: , Logistics, Freight, MRO, Consumables, Goods and Services.
* You will ideally be educated to degree level or equivalent through experience, complemented by a demonstrable track record of success.
* Experienced in conducting total acquisitions
* As the role will require frequent UKand occasional foreign travel - flexibility to travel will be essential.
