This role involves providing transfer pricing services to a wide range of clients from privately/Private Equity owned SMEs to FTSE groups.
Primary responsibility will be to take ownership of smaller projects and support managers and directors on larger projects. There will be some supervision of more junior staff and a reporting line into the relevant Manager, Director and/or Partner. Projects may involve transfer pricing documentation work, dealing with tax authority enquiries/audits and assisting clients with transfer pricing and value chain planning.
You will be self-motivated, able to work to tight deadlines on a number of projects concurrently have excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills together with an ability and interest in understanding your clients' business.
• Responsible for projects whilst being supervised by Manager/Director/Partner and communicating effectively to the rest of the transfer pricing team
• To draft letters and reports for review by Manager/Director/Partner
• To review work, including benchmarking, produced by more junior members of staff
• Identify risk and technical matters, as well as selling opportunities, to the Partner/Manager, whilst exercising judgement within agreed parameters
• Understand and adhere to cost budgets, meet reporting timetables, prepare key client deliverables
• Ensure WIP is monitored and liaise with their line manager on client billing
• Strategically and commercially aware
• Ability to develop innovative ideas and solutions
• Business development skills, able to identify and convert opportunities to sell work.
• Contribute to winning work by proactively managing existing clients and play a part in winning new clients
• Supporting bid teams in tenders for new work.
• Ensure professional standards are met and supervise, support and develop more junior staff
• An awareness, and management, of risk with respect to client projects and the wider firm whilst able to apply a practical/business-driven approach to client work.

Who we're looking for
• Competent on routine work without generating significant Manager review points
• Significant understanding of and previous experience within transfer pricing
• Technically strong - with awareness of a wide range of transfer pricing issues (and an awareness of associated tax matters), business and commercial experience/awareness, and the ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of the appropriate use of databases and economic pricing tools. A thorough understanding of OECD principles and how key tax authorities apply them
• Knowledge and expertise in a particular industry area as a preference
• Controversy experience in supporting clients in tax authority audit/enquiry cases
• Supervisory experience - Ability to demonstrate and impart technical knowledge
• Relevant experience in the transfer pricing arena (at least 2 years full-time experience in the field)
• Proven experience within a Big 4 firm or equivalent consultancy specialising in transfer pricing
• Excellent knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft office
• Able to demonstrate the keenness to develop a career within the profession
• ACA/CTA or degree in economics or equivalent
