Responsible for proactive identification and quantification of potential threats tothe Portfolio and the market in which we operate, and to work with the wider Credit Risk team to develop appropriate Portfolio strategies to effectively mitigate the risks and support stable earnings growth. • Develop a range of realistic upside and downside economic and market scenarios that drive proposals to de-risk the portfolio, working with key stakeholders in Group Economics, Credit Risk, Retail Products, Customer Analytics • Inform scenario planning and influence Risk Appetite and Portfolio Strategy plans • Pro-actively identify new and emerging threats and portfolio concentrations of high risk sub-segments (e.g. geographic, sector etc.) with reference to regulatory, market, economic and competitor insight
• Support the Portfolio Optimisation teams to mitigate emergent identified threats
Who we're looking for
• Formal training and experience of working in a professional economist role, with an understanding of the wide range of economic issues and their implications • Sound economics and ability to think through problems from 'first principles' • Well developed project management skills as evidenced by track record in delivering proposals and initiatives on time, within budget without sacrificing quality and ability to plan and organise own workload and those of others • Financial services experience, particularly within a credit risk environment • Knowledge of the credit risk landscape and practices • Knowledge of risk management methodologies and operations • Ability to deliver tactical and strategic solutions within area of expertise
