Patent Manager

You will:

• Takes responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Company's patent portfolio.
• Facilitates the interaction between inventors and the patent agent.
• Maintains the records of the company's patents.
• Ensures the timely filing of new patents, prosecutions, oppositions and initial review of potential infringements and invalidity opinions.
• Assists in the licensing of the company's patent portfolio and the identification of strategic partners.
• In conjunction with the company's marketing and IP analyst, produce regular reviews of competitive IP activities.
• Maintains an awareness of competitive IP activities.
• In conjunction with Legal/Group evaluates the validity and value of all patents proposed for acquisition.
• Reviews the company's patent applications for reward recognition.
• Facilitates interactions on IP between the company's business streams and across the division.
• Provides annual budgetary forecasts for the company's patent portfolio

Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate will have:

• Extensive experience in a similar role.
• Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• Membership of CIPA or ITMA.
In addition you will:

o Have excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills
o Be able to translate and present findings to others in a less technical manner to ensure comprehension
o Be highly self motivated with keen attention to detail.
o Works well under pressure and organises work to meet deadlines
