Police Mutual is creating a new and exciting position for a sole In-house Commercial Solicitor. We are looking for a team player who thrives on change and acts with integrity, drive and passion for serving others. You will also be commercial and help get the best deals for our members.
Who we're looking for
Based in Lichfield, the position will report to the company secretary and provide legal support and commercial advice to the Police Mutual Group.
Key responsibilities include assessing and making judgements about legal risk by:
• Supporting the commercial director in negotiating strategically important contracts and associated reporting to the board
• Working on strategic projects including helping to assess options, feasibility and risk and the associated contractual and legal issues
• Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide range of contractual documentation across the group and ensuring a framework is in place for contract life cycle management and supporting procurement and outsourcing procedures
• Identifying, managing and educating the group on the wider legal risks and legislative developments
• Ensuring consumer documentation is legally compliant and associated operational procedures reflect the legal position
You will be a qualified solicitor with a minimum of five years' PQE (The PQE indicated in this advertisement is a guide only and does not preclude
applications from those with more or less PQE), with a solid commercial contracts background. The successful applicant will have had good training ideally from a top tier law firm and combine a pragmatic, yet approachable, manner with strong attention to detail.
