Reporting to the Operations Manager the role of Engineering Manager will be a key member of the manufacturing team. Managing a team of engineers, you will be responsible for delivering the required performance in terms of productivity, quality and cost reduction.
As Engineering Manager, you will:
• Be responsible for both the day-to-day running & long-term strategic development of the department which includes maintenance, project management, process improvements and facilities
• Manage and develop planning within the department to maximise efficiencies, in particular implementing a more rigorous approach to project management.
• Provide on-going training and coaching to members of your team.
• Use lean manufacturing principles to improve companywide processes.
• Have a structured approach to dealing with production issues in a timely manner and appreciate the urgency of this.
• Work side by side with Production to ensure their is a clear process mapped out for problem solving and root cause analysis.

The right candidate will be:
• Determined and tenacious
• Able to deal with pressure and competing interests
• Enthusiastic, pragmatic and a self starter
• Approachable and patient with the ability to build lasting and credible relationships with staff at all levels
• Ability to be thorough and work within and to current systems (challenging where necessary)
• High computer literacy in PowerPoint, Excel & Word
• Strong engineering background (with strong engineering degree)
•Have a proven track record inmanaging a team of production/manufacturing engineers.
• Detailed knowledge of modern engineering processes including lean, six sigma, 5S, etc.
• Have a working knowledge of PPAP and APQP.
