- Supporting the Finance team with the ongoing operation and development of accounting systems and with the production of key financial reports.
- Provide systems support to the accounting users who produce the financial reports for the Bank, the BIS Pension Fund and BIS Investment Pools.
- Support the analysis of existing practices in the Findur banking system and the development and implementation of improvements.
- Maintain and assist with the development of the Finance data warehouse Business Objects universes.
- Operate a PeopleSoft general ledger, a Findur banking administration system and Business Objects universes. Develop and operate reports using Business Objects, Crystal Reports and Cognos FSR.
- Develop and operate reconciliation and other control procedures.
- Plan and coordinate accounting system developments, including those required by new banking products and processes.
- Ensure that system processes and developments are adequately documented.
Who we're looking for
- Educated to university standard, preferably in accounting, finance, computer science or mathematics.
- Very strong IT skills with an in depth knowledge of databases, accounting systems, banking administration systems, MS Excel and report writing software.
- A strong understanding of general accounting concepts and rules. - Excellent written and oral English.
Desirable - An understanding of banking accounting processes and wholesale financial instruments. - Experience working within a Finance function. - Excellent interpersonal skills; good team worker. Able to work with a minimum of supervision, to organise and prioritise own work, and to handle stressful situations. - Other major world languages a plus.
