The Purchasing Manager is a role based in Fife, which will challenge you to manage and control the whole spectrum of the purchasing department including stores & raw materials, as well as some procurement. Working for a premium FMCG manufacturer you will be expected need to ensure product is provided to be available to meetproduction times to exact customer orders and to meet service standards on order completion aiming continually reduce costs and drive customer service improvements.
You will be responsible for managing a select number of vendors and achieving cost reduction targets on those specified suppliers.
Who we're looking for
Reporting to the Site Director the Senior Supply Chain Manager will need to be successful in the following areas:
• Qualifications BSc/BA degree or equivalent desirable. • MRP, or product specific forecasting. • CIPS would be a distinct advantage. • Previous experience of working in a fast paced procurement environment • Highly numerate, analytical and literate. Able to manage large amounts of information and drill down into the detail. • Practical knowledge & understanding of integrated supply chain and logistic concepts. • Knowledge & experience in ERP systems in in particular: SOP, WMS, MPS, MRP • Demonstrable track record in a senior procurement role • Experience of managing packaging, dispatch department, finished goods and raw materials. • Planning to tight constraints with minimum stocks • Project management skills to include the co-ordination of multiple projects, management of resource levels and meeting strict deadlines and short lead times • Clear track record in driving optimisation of resources that deliver capacity, service & quality improvement. • Reporting wastage for accounts and site managers • Have the ability to think strategically and in consideration of the wider picture.
