As a Gift & Jewellery Buyer for Heritage company in the South West you will be sourcing, developing and maintaining products within allocated categories in accordance with budgeted sales and profit targets.
The key responsibilities will include:
• Source and develop new products in conjunction with buying policy, range plans and product development budget
• Assess product and category performance on a weekly basis
• Manage retail pricing, gross margin and balance of new/repeat lines through market research, competitor review and trend analysis.
• Consolidate and strengthen supplier base
• Work with Merchandise team to analyse sales data, manage and stock levels
• Carry out range reviews
• Ensure all products conform to UK and EH buying legislation
• Work with Ecommerce team to ensure product accuracy
• Present product ranges to staff and directors through reviews and road shows
• Develop strong working relationship with retail operations to maximise site sales
• Some travel to competitors, museums and sites will be required

Who we're looking for
In order to be considered for this Buyer role on Gift and Jewellery you will need:

• Proven track record of gift buying in a retail environment
• Knowledge of the UK retail gift sector
• Creative product development background
• An interest or qualification within the arts
• Highly numerical and analytical
• Good commercial awareness
• Strong presentation skills
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Team player
